Q: How long have you been a fan of Hoodie Allen?

Max Shafer: [AJ Hezlep and I] have been listening to Hoodie ever since he came out with his EP, “Pep Rally,” in 2010.

Q: What were your favorite parts of the show?

MS: Our favorite parts of his shows are definitely when he plays some of his old music, especially songs of his EP, “Leap Year.”

Q: Can you describe your concert experience? How long did you wait and what was the atmosphere of the crowd?

MS: We got to the venue, The Wiltern, about 3 hours early, and to our surprise the line was already really long! We realized then that most of the people at the show were going to be people who had just hopped on the “Hoodie band wagon.” As the show started, our prediction came true. Most of the crowd only knew his mainstream music, making the show less intense than usual. But the show was still a lot of fun! From his entrance to his confetti cannon exit, Hoodie put on a great show at the Wiltern!

Q: As a longtime fan, what do you see in the future for Hoodie?

MS: I can definitely tell that Hoodie is going to get bigger. After he dropped some of his new stuff of “People Keep Talking,” I could immediately see new fans pouring in. However, I feel like he is beginning to lean to a more sing-y genre instead of his older hip hop self—which is a bummer for people who have been following him since the beginning.
